It is my privilege to serve as our Arizona Ministry Network Superintendent. My wife, Carla and I consider it a true honor. We love our pastors and churches across this great state!
We have an amazing Network team that serves our pastors and churches in the AZMN. My heart is to see our pastors and churches thrive through our team’s work of encouraging, equipping, and envisioning. I believe our greatest days are ahead!
Here is a brief summary of our years in ministry to date:
· Youth/Young adults - Phoenix First Assembly (Dream City Church) 1984-1992
· Lead Pastor - Red Mountain Christian Center, Mesa, AZ (Via Church) 1992-2010
· Lead Pastor – Central Assembly, Springfield Missouri 2010-2016
· Pastoral Care Director – Arizona Ministry Network 2017-2024
· Network Superintendent – Arizona Ministry Network 2024-current
I grew up in a pastor’s home and lived in Illinois and Texas as my dad faithfully served many churches, ultimately living and graduating high school in Carlinville, Illinois. I was blessed to complete a B.A. in Bible from Central Bible College, Springfield, Missouri as well as a M.A.C.M. from Assemblies of God Theological Seminary. After returning to Phoenix in 2017, I completed an M.S.P.C. at Grand Canyon University.
I have been married to the love of my life, Carla, since 1984. She is an amazing partner in ministry and life. There is nothing better than hanging out with her at every opportunity amidst our busy lives. We have three married daughters and eight incredible grandchildren. All our kids are in the Valley and we even live across the street from four of our grandkids…now that’s fun!
My passions in ministry spring from a pastor’s heart. I love to preach/teach God’s word, counsel/care for people’s needs, and lead worship (even in my old age!). I worship God every day in my quiet time, memorizing and meditating Scripture, and continue to grow in my prayer life. I am currently memorizing large portions of Scripture and daily pray by memory St. Patrick’s Breastplate Prayer. I believe meditating God’s truths is an absolute key to peace of mind and heart (Isaiah 26:3).
I am a dual city sports fan—loving Chicago and Phoenix franchises. I love to watch all sports, but the NFL is my favorite. I’ve been blessed to attend two World Series games and a Final Four weekend. I have returned to golf after a 27 year hiatus, try to play weekly, and find it life-giving to my mind and body.
In closing, I love our pastors. Few things are better than to share a meal or golf with a pastor friend. Bi-vocational pastors are my heroes, as they work all week and are faithful to lead their churches every Sunday. I am thankful the Assemblies of God celebrates women in ministry leadership. I pray for a Holy Spirit-led revival of our churches across the state, by God’s grace. It is a such a privilege to serve in this role.
